Tree House Brewing’s ‘Sssappp’ on the Island of Mo’orea

Tree House Brewing's 'Sssappp' New England IPA on Mo'orea

One afternoon lounging by the ocean, a coconut lazily drifted to the shoreline. The two honeymooners from New York thought it was the coolest thing ever. A coconut not already turned into water?! A true Robinson Crusoe moment.

They carry the prize to the oceanside bar where the honeymooners ask for some help breaking the coconut open. After being given a well-deserved exasperated look, the bartender smiles and obliges much to everyone’s delight. Countless smashes against a rock causes cracks in the outer husk, which gradually gets peeled away from the treasure inside. One final whallop fractures the nut itself, revealing peeks of white flesh. Applause all around.

The honeymooners return to their hammock with two glasses of coconut water and the coconut itself to munch on while watching the sunset. While it’s refreshing, it’s just not hitting the spot. Solution? Grab a can of beer that just flew more than 6,000 miles to cap off their exploits. Another day in paradise.
