Troegs’ ‘Troegenator’ Dopplebock Meets the New Normal
Crafting a new routine with plenty of beer as fuel.
Shit has been crazy. I know I don’t need to tell you that. A virus has turned our world upside down and people all over are struggling with what’s becoming the norm. A week ago, I was working a job I loved with cautious optimism of the situation. This week I’m filing for unemployment in a state that is going to be overwhelmed with people like me. All of us are going to be shaken to the core. It’s boggling to think that somehow this is going to get even worse before it gets better.
It’s time for some introspection and also a reaffirmation of our connection to the community. I’m not just talking about financially supporting the local business that are going to be decimated by this situation. I’m talking about offering words of encouragement to the people behind those businesses; a thank you to the people busting their asses to provide us with the supplies we need; a shoulder (6 feet away) to cry on for the people who have had their lives unravel overnight; a prayer for the people who are going to make the unthinkable decision of who lives and who dies while potentially sacrificing their own lives.
This isn’t going to be easy, but if we really start coming together (figuratively of course), we will get battered, but we will get through it. With that in mind, I’m going to do what I can to offer a least a minute or two of entertainment to keep people’s minds off of the situation (present post excluded of course). Pictures, videos, virtual beer classes, articles, dirty limericks, embarrassing real life stories, I’m on it! And if you need a virtual stranger to talk to, I’m here.
Stay safe out there.
